SUNO UPDATES
Studio 2.0: MIDI, effects and automation
Announced: 13 August 2026 · Sources checked: 25 September 2026
From a generated song to an arrangement
Studio 2.0 brings audio tracks, MIDI, effects and automation into a browser-based workspace. Its documentation lists Premier as the required plan, recommends Chrome and specifies a minimum screen width of 768 pixels, with mobile devices unsupported. Reading this article on a phone does not mean the full Studio workspace is supported there. [1]
What automation does
Automation changes a parameter over time, such as a track's volume or an effect setting. Instead of keeping one fixed value, you draw its movement. Open the automation view, right-click a parameter and create its lane. Move points or bend the segments between them. Suno confirms that automation is included in exports. [2]
The order of effects matters
A track's effects form a chain: you can reorder devices or bypass them for comparison. Available tools include EQ, compression, reverb, delay and distortion. EQ shapes frequency ranges; compression controls dynamics. Our practical advice is to judge an adjustment in the full mix as well as on the isolated track. [3]
Custom effects are not external plugins
Chat can build an effect from your description. You can save those effects for other projects, but they are different from VST or Audio Units plugins: Studio does not load those external formats. Do not assume your plugin collection from another application can be transferred directly. [3]
Start with one passage and one goal
A.I.S.C suggestion: choose a short passage and identify one change it needs. Try adjusting a single part's level or introducing an effect gradually. Compare before and after at similar listening levels. Add another tool only when it serves a musical purpose. The goal is to express the arrangement more clearly, not to demonstrate every feature.
What still needs a listening decision
A feature list cannot tell you whether an arrangement is finished. This guide explains documented capabilities; it is not a stability or export-quality review. Listen through your project, especially its transitions and ending, after making edits. That is A.I.S.C editorial advice, not the result of testing this Studio release.
